Imperial Optical Zunow Elmo Cine 38mm F1.1
D-mount.

If you're interested in vintage lenses, you'll inevitably come across "Imperial Optical," later known as Zunow Optical, a unique Japanese lens manufacturer. The ZUNOW brand supplied lenses to mounts like Leica and Nikon, with its roots in research and development for aerial reconnaissance cameras used by the military to take photographic reconnaissance at dusk, a history befitting the name "Imperial."

The Zunow 50mm F1.1, occasionally found in high-end stores in Ginza and Shinjuku, is a rare lens that can exceed 1 million yen if in good condition. Of course, there's a way to get your hands on one! Zunow also developed cine lenses, and the D-mount lenses, especially for 8mm cameras, are inexpensive because they cannot be converted due to flange back issues... However! Kobo Focus released an E-mount conversion mount with an innovative and somewhat crazy design that allows the lens to be inserted into the E-mount lens mount, making Zunow much more accessible.

This lens is 38mm, which is a medium telephoto equivalent on a full-frame camera. It boasts a bright aperture of "F1.1," allowing it to perform well in low-light conditions.

It has a large amount of bokeh, but it's quite soft wide open, and the resolution increases as you stop down. There's a lot of light blooming, but the swirling effect is minimal, resulting in a unique bokeh.

The small image circle allows for extremely close-up photography, and the telephoto capability provides excellent telephoto macro performance, making it ideal for shooting dragonflies, butterflies, and other subjects.

F1.1 at this focal length is rare and commands a high price, but this item is being offered at a relatively low price. Why not take this opportunity to venture into the vast world of D-mount cine lenses?

Please understand that this is a used item.
