It's been nearly 14 years since her passing.
It's been 41 years since my first encounter with Whitney and the unwavering, lifelong Best "You Give Good Love," and how much I longed for that lovely figure I saw on MTV. I'm sure I'm not the only fan who feels this way. Nowadays, all her CDs, LPs, and singles are no longer rare, but these two have a special significance. I'm assuming that ② is probably a UK-only jacket, but in any case, it's a hard-to-find gem. And ① is taken from a past comment...
Now, I'm a Whitney fan failure. I've revealed that from the start, but what makes me say that? If you're perceptive, you'll understand: this 12" record contains an unreleased song, or rather, "Feels So Good," which was shelved for some reason from her 3rd album. It's a masterpiece of a song, with Whitney's vocals being incredibly charming. And no wonder, as it was written (composed) by the beloved Brian Loren, and of course, produced by Narada. By the way, some CDs have it listed as the Narada version.
Personally, it might be my second favorite Whitney song, or perhaps I'm being biased, after "You Give Good Love." The value of having that on vinyl is immeasurable.
I've researched why such a great song was shelved, but I don't know for sure. However, I suspect it may have been related to Arista Records president Clive Davis, who was heavily involved in Whitney's debut, and Brian Loren's solo album at the time. In the end, the song wasn't included on that album, "Music From The New World"...
