“31 pages, 14 full page colour reproductions with small woodcuts which appeared in Punch by John Leech (1817–1864). A British caricaturist and illustrator best known for his work for Punch, a humorous magazine for a broad middle class audience, combining verbal and graphic political satire with light social comedy. Leech catered to contemporary prejudices, such as anti-Americanism and antisemitism, and supported acceptable social reforms.”

“Professor Thomas Patrick Bodkin (21 July 1887–24 April 1961) was an Irish barrister and art collector who became an art historian and curator.”

“Sir Alfred James Munnings, (8 October 1878 – 17 July 1959) is known as having been one of England's finest painters of horses, and as an outspoken critic of Modernism.”
