This is a sterling silver (925) gemstone necklace, and from the design and stones it does appear to be vintage, likely late 1980s–1990s, possibly early 2000s at the latest. Marked 925 = solid sterling silver
• The chain style and oxidation/patina are consistent with older sterling rather than modern mass-produced silver. Faceted purple stones
• These are amethyst
• Natural amethyst was very commonly used in sterling jewelry during the 80s–90s
• The faceting and color are consistent with genuine amethyst rather than glass
2. Purple marbled cabochons
