If you don’t turn the keypad knob within this 3-sec, the lock will be back to the “lock position.” This is a security feature "auto-lock" designed to prevent “forgetting to lock.” This is a spring latch lock. The latch does NOT have motor and does NOT move itself. Therefore, it lasts longer than dead-bolt. Again, you will need to TURN the keypad knob to unlock. Install this door knob yourself!
