Product Description Capable of accommodating a range of lighter LDC recording microphones typically found in the world's top recording studios, Rycote's USM-L makes use of patented, vibration-resistant Lyre technology. Specially-designed Lyres are placed around a central mounting ring with adjustable fasteners, allowing the USM-L to securely hold a variety of industry-standard Large Diaphragm Condenser mics. Elasticated components are completely omitted, and modern materials are used to create a virtually indestructible shock-mount with a performance that far outstrips older designs. In controlled tests in Rycote's R&D facilities, the USM-L provided up to twice the isolation of traditional microphone suspension systems. This Kit comes complete with the USM-VB mount, and an open-cell design pop filter for protection against plosives. In 1969, Rycote introduced the world’s first microphone windshield system for location sound and electronic news-gathering (ENG).
