The brand name "Robes&Confections" comes from the name of ready-made clothing manufacturers when ready-made clothes first appeared in Europe. At that time, it referred to the poor quality clothes worn by the lower classes, the so-called ready-made clothes. However, modern everyday wear has its origins in the clothes of these workers. The manufacturers of the time racked their brains to gradually improve the function and completeness of the clothes, and that supports modern clothing.

Robes&Confections' collection pursues modern clothing based on a solid understanding of the classics in terms of cutting and tailoring. Rather than design, they propose new everyday wear based on ideas such as "What can we do now with a jacket, which is originally a functional workwear?"

【Robes&Confections Designer Profile】

The designer is Akira Tsuchiya. Born in 1969. Graduated from Kanagawa University in 1993. Graduated from the Apparel Design Department of Bunka Fashion College in 1996. After graduation, he worked as a patterner at Yohji Yamamoto. In 2003, he became independent and established MIKA Co., Ltd., and started the women's wear brand "Robes&Confections."
