Rare "Some Way Out of Here" by Jos Jansen

In an age of confusion and transformation, how can we visualize the state of people's minds? Dutch visual artist Jos Jansen explores a new and alternative way to express the uncertainty of the modern era. This work pushes the boundaries of image creation by using a 3D LiDAR camera, the same technology found in self-driving cars. This camera emits light in three dimensions, allowing for real-time, three-dimensional understanding of distant and surrounding environments. The data is recorded as a point cloud, often giving a mysterious and ambiguous impression. Jansen walked the streets of Paris, Berlin, and Amsterdam, photographing people lost in thought, questioning, and dreaming.
