These sliding window locks are constructed of extruded aluminum housings and steel thumbscrews, and they come in a milled aluminum finish. These locks are manufactured to fit on older style, metal framed windows, usually of single pane glass. These locks will not work with modern vinyl windows, as the locks have only a narrow 1/4 inch opening. The thumbscrews of these locks can be tightened with pliers to securely lock windows in their closed or ventilating positions. These locks are easy to install and are used by many to increase the security of their home.
