A Gewinde-Grenzlehrdorn is a blend of a Gutlehrdorn and an Ausschusslehrdorn, distinguished by a red ring on its Ausschussseite. The Gut-Seite should screw into a cut thread of a workpiece by hand, without extra force. If not, the thread fails to meet expectations (Ausschuss). The Ausschuss-Seite can screw in up to two turns by hand; more indicates a faulty thread. A reference temperature of 20°C applies to parts and gauges.
