Available here for a limited time is a true treasure of the Medieval world: A beautifully hand-forged Great Bascinet Helmet made of polished 18 gauge mild steel. This helmet is full-size and fully wearable. It features a full face visor that can be raised an lowered. And once lowered, the visor locks nicely into place so it won't flip up on its own when riding or running about. The helmet's interior comes fully lined in black leather, and has an adjustable multi-point suspension system so you can adjust the helmet for a proper fit! This type of helmet was one of the most popular worn in the 14th and early 15th Century, providing more mobility and freedom of movement than the traditional great helms that came before it. Hand-forged from high quality 18 gauge low carbon mild steel, this beautiful re-creation consists of a single rounded skull plate riveted to front and rear gorget plates to cover the neck area, each rivet is made from genuine brass polished to a mirror finish. The visor pivots off of removable pin hinges on both sides and features 28 breathing holes for ventilation along with wide eye slits to ensure high visibility by the wearer. A decorative cross plate adorns the face of the helmet. The skull piece features a rear conical design that was very useful for deflecting sword blows as well as arrows. The fully adjustable interior lining is made from high quality 100 percent genuine Cotton cap and ensures that the helmet has a comfortable fit. Approximate Weight: 7 Lbs.
