The Mouse Rat XS (Stroke) features a removable base for hassle-free cleaning. It's made of durable Acrylic and can serve as a large Open Field. Easy to clean with 70% Ethanol, it includes a separator dividing into 4 individual mouse/rat boxes. The Matte Finish ensures no shine, and it's odor-free. The Open Field Test, popular for assessing exploratory behavior and anxiety, uses thigmotaxis to evaluate various treatments. Ambulation is the primary behavior studied, but others like latency or rearing can also be measured. Walls can be opaque or clear, with clear walls recommended for anxiety measurements. Easy to clean and maintain, grid floor inserts are available for video tracking. The Open Field apparatus is a square arena available in 27x27cm and 50x50cm sizes, with clear walls and optional gridlines. Developed by C.S. Hall, it assesses locomotion, exploration, and anxiety-related behaviors. While simple and modifiable, it may not provide a specific measure of anxiety and should be used with other behavioral tests.
