The phrase on the hoodie, "Verso l'alto," is an Italian phrase that translates to "Toward the top" or "To the heights".
The phrase is famously associated with Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, an Italian Catholic social activist and mountaineer from the early 20th century. Frassati was an avid mountain climber, and he inscribed the words on the back of a photo taken during his final climb to a mountain peak.
