Music University/Junior College/High School Music Department Entrance Exam Collection 2013

A collection of past exam questions for those applying to music universities, junior colleges, and high schools for the 2014 academic year. This volume includes all 2013 entrance exam questions from 32 national and public universities, 30 private universities, 12 junior colleges, and 51 high schools. It covers music theory, aural training, sight-singing exercises, harmony and composition tasks, as well as improvisation, accompaniment, and even Japanese, English, and essay questions for difficult schools. It also includes the 2014 set pieces for major schools such as Tokyo University of the Arts, Aichi University of the Arts, Kyoto City University of Arts, Tokyo Metropolitan Comprehensive Arts High School, Toho Girls' High School, and Kyoto Horikawa Music High School, which could not be included in the "Music University and School Guide 2014." As it is a single-year publication, it is an essential resource not only for next spring's applicants but also for junior high and high school students in their first and second years preparing for exams.

The introductory color pages, "What You Want to Know! Music University Entrance Exam Q&A," which began in the 2012 edition, are composed of questionnaires from each university's admissions office, interviews with new students (seniors from the perspective of applicants), and interviews with head professors, and are popular for containing the information that applicants truly need. This year, the focus is on wind instruments, which have a large number of applicants.
