This access panel features a robust welded aluminum frame, available with 1/2" (12.7 mm) or 5/8" (15.9 mm) drywall inlay and two latches. Both the outer and inner frame assemblies are made of high-grade aluminum, bonded with a special welding process. For sizes 12" x 12" (305 mm x 305 mm) and larger, the panel includes a safety system to prevent accidental opening, which must be reattached if the hatch is removed. A 1/16" (1.59 mm) reveal is visible between the outer frame and door hatch. The panel opens with concealed snap locks when pressure is applied to the spring-loaded latch side, and it's designed with a double door to create a large clear span opening.
