For rope shafts with a large weight difference, this rope brake provides the solution. The lightweight device attaches to the first express sling and increases rope friction, allowing a lighter securing device to catch and hold the weight of a heavier pre-climber. Thanks to the patented cam construction, the resistance is activated only when dropped or drained and the rope is never completely blocked. Instead, the device allows smooth rope guidance as well as a soft catch and optimises dynamic securing. With the Mammut Assist Belay Resistor, new routes can be walked safely.
