Vintage Lord Nelson Ware commemorative plate produced by Elijah Cotton Ltd in Staffordshire, England. This piece celebrates the 1959 Royal Visit to Canada by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, as well as the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway. The plate features a scalloped, embossed floral rim with gold-tone accents and a central maple leaf motif containing portraits of the royal couple. The ER II royal cypher is displayed at the bottom. Please note there is a visible crack running from the rim toward the center and significant crazing throughout, consistent with age.
