Gorsch: Heather Serge Band Shirts

This is a band collar shirt made of black chambray fabric by Gorsch the merry coachman.
The fabric is a cotton-hemp blend with a nep texture that will develop character with wear.
It has a clean, streamlined silhouette with a long length, and the details, such as the hand pockets and the cutting around the edges, are exquisite.
The fabric is exceptionally well-crafted, with the following details:

The fabric's approach differs from vintage black chambray. The warp threads use a melange yarn created by twisting together a gray-top-like, heathered, off-white yarn of Black Land Hemp and a sun-faded, ink-black dyed cotton yarn.

The uneven shape of the hemp yarn and the faded color create a natural slub yarn effect. The weft threads use a core-spun yarn with a near-untwisted core and uneven yarns of different counts, twisted in a wall-like manner, to express the rough texture of the era when spinning technology was still immature.

A washer finish is applied to encourage the four different types of yarns, with their varying compositions and counts, to shrink at their respective rates, resulting in a rugged, textured surface.

This shirt can be worn as a shirt or as a light outer layer.

Gorsch learned that his late grandfather was a tailor.
Imagining his grandfather at work, his admiration grew, and he began to follow the same path.

His skills are still developing, but he is not only improving his tailoring techniques but also living in various foreign countries, experiencing different cultures, and creating Gorsch-style products based on his feelings.
