Generally speaking, the "hydrophilic carbon paper" is actually raw carbon paper. The hydrophilic carbon paper needs to be acidified to make its surface carry hydrophilic groups. The scientific materials Station advocates and encourages the use of two concepts of raw carbon paper and hydrophilic carbon paper in future scientific research work to avoid confusion. 3. Hydrophobic carbon paper: it refers to PTFE treatment of raw carbon paper to make the raw carbon paper more hydrophobic. Scientific material station can provide corresponding hydrophobic carbon paper of various types of raw carbon paper, from weak hydrophobic carbon paper (1wt% PTFE treatment) to strong hydrophobic carbon paper (50wt% PTFE treatment)! The specific contents are: 1wt%, 5wt%, 10wt%, 20wt%, 30wt%, 40wt% and 50wt% PTFE. 4. Hydrophobic microporous layer carbon paper: it refers to the PTFE hydrophobic treatment of raw carbon paper, and on this basis, the hydrophobic carbon paper is coated with a mixture of PTFE and carbon black (or graphite, etc.) to form a microporous layer on its surface. Both sides of the hydrophobic microporous carbon paper are hydrophobic. According to the number of surfaces coated with microporous layer, it can be divided into single-sided hydrophobic microporous layer carbon paper or double-sided hydrophobic microporous layer carbon paper. No matter which one, both sides show hydrophobicity. Therefore, in order to select the appropriate carbon paper, please distinguish different concepts of carbon paper.
