Dormer's E258 is a machine tap which conforms to the German Institute for Standardization and will produce metric coarse threads in sizes from M4 to M36. It has a spiral flute which makes it ideal for threading shallow holes which stop part way through the work piece in tough materials such as tool steels. For better performance and extended tool life, the E258 is manufactured from powder metal High Speed cobalt, whilst the bright finish ensures a more accurate thread by preventing work piece material from sticking to the cutting edge of the tool.
