These unique, small ammonite fossils hail from Madagascar. Each specimen is distinct, with hues ranging from brown to orange to yellow. Once marine cephalopods, they coexisted with dinosaurs and perished around 65 million years ago, during the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event. Each fossil showcases a cut, polished side revealing chambers, and a rough, unpolished side displaying the fossilized shell, often preserving a rainbow or iridescent nacre. Average length is approximately 1.5 inches (4cm). Due to their variability, we cannot guarantee specific colors, sizes, or patterns. Please peruse the photos for a sense of their range. It's captivating to observe the perfect logarithmic spiral and mineralization effects in these fossils from the dinosaur era.
