The 38 inch Square Fire Pit is constructed with 11 Gauge Cor-Ten Steel for maximum durability and rustic antique appearance. Cor-Ten, also known as Weathering Steel, is a steel alloy which was developed to eliminate the need for painting and form a stable rust-like appearance when exposed to the weather. The overall dimensions of the Fire Pit are 44” Square x 23 tall. Hidden Tank models are 26 ¾” tall. On Wood Burning models the bowl dimensions are 28” in diameter x 14” deep. On Glass Media and Hidden Tank models the bowl dimensions are 28” in diameter x 4” deep. We offer 4 configurations of this fire pit. Wood burning – the media grate is positioned 5” from the bottom of the fire bowl. Wood burning with a gas kit - the media grate is positioned 5” from the bottom of the fire bowl and the fire ring is positioned below the grate. You would purchase this configuration if you are using ceramic logs or if you wanted to start a natural wood fire with gas. Glass or Lava Rock burning with a gas kit - The fire bowl is 4” deep with the fire ring secured to the bottom of the bowl. In this configuration, you would fill the bowl with glass media or lava rock to just above the fire ring. The gas diffuses thru the media and is ignited at the surface. Hidden Propane Tank This model has a hinged door on one side of the fire pit. A standard 20 lbs propane tank fits up under the fire pit. It includes the regulator, key valve, stainless steel no whistle flex line, air/gas diffuser and a stainless steel 24” stainless steel burner ring.
