This fine porcelain collector plate is titled "Yuan-chun" and is the 2nd of the "Beauties of the Red Mansion" series by Imperial Jingdezhen Porcelain. Created by master artisan Zhao Huimin, the series depicts characters from the classic Chinese novel, The Dream of the Red Chamber (also known as The Dream of Red Mansions). It was released in 1986 and depicts the character Yuan-chun, a noblewoman, accompanied by a maid. The plates were produced using a specialized printing process which allows for the intricate "micro dot" detail seen in the artwork.
I have each of the first 4 plates in this beautiful series, celebrating the strong female characters from the classic novel. Discounts are available for purchase of two or more plates.
