2003 Spring/Summer ISSEY MIYAKE MEN Red Stitch Denim, Garment Washed

While there are many famous looks within Issey Miyake, perhaps none are as simple and well-known as this.

These are denim pants, but they utilize a special knitting structure different from the usual twill weave.

By changing the arrangement and tension of the threads, a natural distortion and three-dimensional effect is created in the fabric. This can be seen as a Naoki Takizawa-esque attempt to incorporate Issey Miyake's pursuit of the "relationship between the body and cloth" into the everyday material of denim.

In the early 2000s, ISSEY MIYAKE MEN stripped away ornamentation, establishing individuality through structure and material alone. This product strongly reflects that philosophy.

I myself was greatly inspired by the minimalist designs of Issey Miyake led by Naoki Takizawa in the early 2000s. I hope you will experience this感動 (kando - deep emotion/impression) by wearing it.
