Bulkhead fittings are designed to connect commercial, industrial and residential water filtration systems. Plastic bulkhead fittings are used anytime a hole is made in a tank or other structure (i.e. glass or acrylic) to simplify the attachment of plumbing pieces. The use of a plastic bulkhead fitting will help to reduce stress and avoid cracks and leakage. They also simplify the installation and removal of pumps and accessories. These bulkhead fittings are made of Black ABS Plastic, Manufactured in the USA. Bulkhead Fittings permit safe, quick pipe connections to plastic-metal or plastic lined tanks. Designed to prevent any possible leakage due to poor thread engagement. Hex shaped body and nut for easy installation. All of our Schedule 40 Fittings are NSF Rated 61, which means they are certified for use with drinking water. NSF stands for National Sanitation Foundation. If a pvc pipe fitting is NSF rated it means it has passed very strict standards and test procedures and is certified for use in residential or commercial plumbing projects. All of our bulkheads come with both a nut and a gasket to effectively seal a point when connecting a project. From a sizing standpoint, a 3/4 inch pipe will fit inside our 3/4 inch bulkhead, a 2 inch pipe will fit inside our 2 inch bulkhead and so on. All of our bulkhead fittings are slightly tapered so that any plumbing pipe will fit and as the pipe slides into the bulkhead, it becomes tighter (unless you prefer a threaded fit - which is also available).
